GLBT In Israel

Although the idea of a vibrant queer community in Israel, reputed birthplace of the biblical condemnation of same-sex relations, may seem far-fetched, Israel today is one of the world's most progressive countries in terms of equality for sexual minorities. Politically, legally, and culturally, the community has moved from life at the margins of Israeli society to visibility and growing acceptance. (glbt.org Feb 2002)

With the largest GLBT community in the country, Tel Aviv is with out a doubt the center of Gay, Lesbian, Bi and Trans life in Israel. Bars, clubs, coffee lounges and dance bars offer a whole new adventure every night.
The city has a beautiful gay beach, brilliant gay pride parade, gay film festival and even gay yoga... Parties, Drug nights, Eurovision contests and extremely good weather to top it all and make every outfit plausible….

Visiting Israel for the first time? Don’t know anyone? Here on a short visit and want to glimpse the local scene? Check out our tips at GLBT – TLV.

The GLBT Association - The Israeli Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Association (the “Aguda”) was established in 1975 as a national, grassroots organization dedicated to furthering the rights of the GLBT community in Israel. The Aguda is committed to providing emotional and psychological support for GLBTs and to raising the consciousness and pride of the GLBT community.
